A man with an intellectual disability who had been born and raised in the United States but had difficult reading and speaking English was deported after being arrested for a minor offense.

After eating out of garbage cans and wandering through Mexico, a place where he knew no one and had never been, he was finally found – and held in custody for failing to show up to his court date.

This is a really horrible story. But, to be clear, no one should ever have to go through this – US citizen or undocumented person.
